Types of Toothbrushes

smile_more_reasonsYour teeth are very important and it is essential that you take proper care of them. You need to brush your teeth daily and visit your dentist regularly. The cost of caring for your family’s dental needs is rising every day. It is recommended that you have a dental insurance plan to make sure your family’s dental needs are taken care of.

There are many types of toothbrushes on the market today. You can choose from manual or electric toothbrushes. There are different sizes and types to fit everyone in your family. There are ones that are smaller and designed for children and larger ones for adults. Your toothbrush should have a small head which makes it easier to move around in your mouth. The bristles should be made of nylon and not be too hard that they damage your gums.

Certain electric toothbrushes can be more effective at preventing gum inflammation and removing plaque than others. You should choose one that has a rotation oscillation movement, which means the brush head spins in opposite directions in quick short bursts. If you have a hard time getting your child to brush you might want to try an electric toothbrush. They think they are fun and will want to use it all the time.

Most dentists recommend that you replace your toothbrush about every two to three months. After brushing and in between you can use dental floss to clean in between your gumline and teeth. You can use either dental floss or dental tape to get in between each tooth to make sure all of your teeth are clean even in the hard to reach areas.

Dental care is very important to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Besides brushing and flossing daily you should have routine dental examinations to make sure you have no cavities or gum problems. To make sure you can keep up with the high cost of visiting your dentist you should make sure you have a good dental insurance plan. You never know when a dental emergency may happen and you want to be able to afford to go to a dentist for treatment.
